Higgins in trouble after latest poll reveals the sitting President could be getting the gate in the Autumn




He might be the President at the moment but the way the numbers of beginning to drop, Higgins better enjoy it while it lasts.

With big names such as Bertie Ahern, Miriam O’Callaghan and even talk of Gay Byrne being mooted, Higgins is in a whole lot of trouble some 10 months out from his re-election.

Support for the current President Michael D Higgins has slightly fallen according to a latest poll published by the Irish Times.

President Higgins who is due to finish his term in office this autumn, still has over half the country’s support for a second term.

According to the Irish Times/Ipsos MRBI Poll a total of 59% of Irish voters want to see President Higgins remain in office.

The results will be seen as encouraging to President Higgins, who is yet to decide whether or not he will run for a second term.
