It may have been confirmed that County Kerry was voted the best place to take a short break by the Irish public, but residents in Cong Co Mayo will also have cause for cheer this morning as the historic Ashford Castle has been named the world’s best hotel.
The historic and world famous Castle in Co. Mayo was given the great honor of Hotel of the Year at the Virtuoso Best of the Best Awards held in Las Vegas. The Castle which has luxury rooms after undergoing a multi-million euro makeover, received the highest praise from Virtuoso, who claim to be the world’s best travel network.
The historic Castle was voted the best after beating off stiff competition from over 1,000 hotels from popular destinations worldwide.
