A syndicate who happened to be on holiday in Rosslare Co Wexford have spoken of their delight after winning Saturday night’s Lotto jackpot of €2.5m.
It is believed the members of the syndicate, who asked to remain anonymous, bought a €4 quick pick lotto ticket at An Post in Rosslare Harbour, in the hope of winning the jackpot and couldn’t believe their look of learning that they had one. The group were the sole winners of the jackpot after their numbers matched the numbers drawn on Saturday night which were 9, 6, 33, 37, 40 and 44 and the bonus number was 42.
In a statement the syndicate said that they were absolutely ‘over the moon’ with the win. One member said: “Can’t believe our luck! We have lots of friends and family and we’re looking forward to making their lives a whole lot easier.” “Once that’s done, we might even spend a bit on ourselves. ‘We’re going to travel more with this win, and we’re heading to France, Germany and Europe later on this year. “We’re also really fond of Rosslare, so we might consider buying a mobile home there for more great Lotto winning weekends,” they said.
Meanwhile the group also spoke of how they were going to make a number of charitable donations to repay their luck and good fortune. They said: “We’re going to make plenty of private donations to charities from this win.”
