Horrific: 12-yr-old hanged himself in his bedroom after forgetting to take his books to school and was afraid of being late

In a truly shocking story that emerged this afternoon, a 12-yr-old boy from Manchester hanged himself for fear of being late to school.

The boy’s mother drove him to school only to realise he’d forgotten his books. Tyrese Glasgow asked his mother if he could walk back to the house to get his books.

Tyrese, from Mossley in Greater Manchester, made his way home, was let in by his mother’s partner and subsequently then took his own life in his bedroom, fearing he would be in trouble for returning late to school.

The boy’s mother, Katy Cross, found him after school staff called her and told her Tyrese had not arrived at school that morning and was inquiring where he was.

An inquest heard that the Year 7 pupil at Saddleworth School in Oldham heard that the boy was badly affected by the break up of his parents when he was five years old and he needed counselling to control his emotions.

The boy’s 32-yr-old mother and 35-yr-old father are said to be devastated over the tragedy.
