French authorities are said to be extremely concerned at this stage after a 9-yr-old girl went missing on Sunday during a family wedding.
A major search is under way of an area in the French Alps where the girl named Maelys de Araujo was last seen.
A further 60 police joined teams of up to 300 on the ground searching around the village of Pont-de-Beauvoisin, where Maelys de Araujo disappeared at 3am local time Sunday morning.
“We’ll be going through every tuft of grass and every nook. The idea is to go over the whole surrounding area with a fine-tooth comb,” French police have said.
The search includes local police, search and rescue teams, divers and cavers who are all checking the heavily-wooded and rocky terrain of the area in efforts to find the girl.
