A woman in the US state of Wisconsin has been charged with first degree murder after she murdered a two-month-old baby boy before handing home back to his mother.
In what has been described as a horrific story the woman at the centre of the case Marissa Tiesort, 28, is alleged to have killed little Benson Xiong whilst she was babysitting.
According to The Wausau Daily Hearld, Tiesort who was charged on Friday, killed little Benson on October 18th and handed him back to his mother telling her that he was sleeping.
Police investigating the horrific crime say Tiesort, killed Benson before dressing him in a snowsuit and closing his eyes to make it look like he was asleep in order to deceive his mother.
It is believed that the infant was discovered dead a number of hours later when his mother Heather Gardner, noticed that he wasn’t breathing whilst at a local launderette.
The paper states that Tiesort who is also facing other charges of child abuse was looking after the infant despite being previously told by police not to have any contact with children whilst they investigated other charges that were brought against her.
It is also alleged that Tiesort who is pregnant with her sixth child, brought little Benson to a McDonald’s restaurant after killing him as she and her boyfriend wanted to get some food.
Officers investigating the incident have also revealed that although little Benson was dead for a number of hours before his distraught mother noticed, they and emergency personnel were shocked and saddened when they arrived at the scene and saw his mother trying to resuscitate his lifeless body.
It is understood that the two-month-old died as a result of multiple impacts to the head, whilst his tailbone was that badly broken it was severely displaced.
They also say Benson had a clenched jaw and his lips were blue when paramedics arrived at the scene.
Although Tiesort admitted to knowing that little Benson was dead, she has since denied killing him. She currently remains on a $500,000 bond and is due to appear in court later this month.
