According to reports in the U.S. three teen girls are facing animal cruelty charges after they are seen on video disgracefully throwing a defenceless rabbit against a wall multiple time.
The three teens from Nassau County, Florida, are facing serious charges after they uploaded the video to Snapchat before they shared it on a Nassau County, Fla. community Facebook page. Reports say the shocking video shows the teenage girls laughing giggling and laughing as the rabbit hits the wall, before one of the teens then appears to kick the animal as it tries to escape.
The video reportedly prompted several calls to the Nassau County, Fla. Sheriff’s Office. After an investigation, the teens, ages 13 and 14, were arrested Saturday and taken to a Jacksonville juvenile detention facility.
The rabbit was rescued from the home and is now understood to be in the care of Nassau County Animal Services. According to a Facebook post by the group, the rabbit suffered a fractured leg but is otherwise “safe and sound.” A spokesperson said the rabbit will be adopted into a loving home once it recovers.
