Hospital parking fees could soon be capped under new proposals being considered by the Minister for Health Simon Harris.
It is understood that parking fees could be capped at €10 per day under new proposals.
The new charges system would see hospitals that charge for parking offering multi day passes starting at €10 per day.
It is believed that the Department of Health are considering the changes after groups representing seriously ill patients recently criticised the current fees system which leaves patients and families paying hundreds of euro in parking charges.
