Patients up and down the country are nursing broken and bruised wrists resulting from hoverboard falls.
The popular Christmas wish list item has seen people attend hospitals with fractures, sprains and even a number of cases with concussion.
Dublin Dr, Jane Murray said:
“We’ve seen several cases of wrist and ankle fractures. The speed of the item and balance needed means people who are unfamiliar with what it takes to control the machine are ending up badly injuring themselves with at least 10 surgeries as a result in the capital alone.”
Safety warnings have been issued with the devices to wear helmets and protective clothing and padding until fully familiar with the machines.
