Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy says there should be no General Election until 2020

Fine Gael say there should be no General Election until before the summer of 2020 at least.

The party’s comments come from the Housing Minister Eoghan Murphy who says it makes sense to leave the current arrangement in place until another 18 months.

Mr Murphy’s views were made as both Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil enter talks with hope of reaching a negotiation by December at the earliest.

Although no initial agreement has been reached it is believed that both parties are eager to extend the current confidence and supply agreement.
