Howlin: “I hope to double the number of Labour TDs after the next election”




The leader of the Labour Party Brendan Howlin has revealed that he is hoping to double the number of Labour TDs after the next election.

Mr Howlin’s comments come after he recently revealed that his party’s main focus was to reconnect with voters. Deputy Howlin who speaking at the party’s pre-Government think in said the party had to rebuild and to reconnect with people who “fell out with them”.

The new party leader explained: “I want to double to membership of the party. We have 4,000 members at present, and 50 councillors. We can have a target in the next local election of 100 council seats.”
