HSE forced to close creche due to E.coli outbreak fears

A Co Monaghan creche has been closed until further notice after a case of suspected E.coli was found at facility.

In a brief statement released on Wednesday a HSE spokesperson said the creche was closed in order to prevent the spread of infection.

They also say an inspection at the premises will take place.

Meanwhile parents of children attending the creche have been advised to monitor their children in case they develop any symptoms.

They added most cases usually present with symptoms such as diarrhoea that can become bloody.

Parents are advised to take their child to their GP if symptoms develop.
