HSE forced to issue another public warning notice as a further five measles cases have been reported this week

The HSE have once again been forced to issue a public warning notice after seven cases of the measles have been reported in the past week.

It is believed the public health warning which has been issued to emergency departments across the country comes as a further five cases were reported in Dublin and Meath this week.

The latest announcement comes after two cases were reported in North Dublin last week.

In a statement issued on Friday the HSE say the vast majority of reported cases this week have been reported in the Dublin City area.

They also say a Measles Outbreak Control Team has been brought in to investigate the recent outbreak which is thought to been spread by children carrying the illness attending GP surgeries and emergency departments in Dublin and Meath.
