The HSE have issued a public warning following a recent increase in meningococcal meningitis cases.
It is understood the warning comes after 11 cases were reported in the past few weeks.
The HSE say as many of three people have died from the fatal illness in the past two weeks.
Health officials say general symptoms include: having a severe headache the general symptoms of meningitis are fever, nausea, vomiting, stiff neck (pain), fever, joint pain, rash (that doesn’t dissappear under pressure) and a general feeling of being unwell.
