The HSE have confirmed that they have came across two cases of the measles in the Dublin earlier this month.

In announcement made today, the HSE confirmed that the two cases believed to be that of a man and child were reported after the pair presented with symptoms at a number of Dublin hospitals.

It is understood both the man and the child contracted the illness following a trip to mainland Europe.

The HSE urged people to make sure they have been given the MMR vaccine.

They also say the warning comes amid fears that the pair may have come into contact with the public.

The HSE added anyone showing any symptoms should contact their GP immediately.
