HSE to conduct its own audit of the recent CervicalCheck scandal

The HSE have confirmed that it is to conduct its own audit of the recent CervicalCheck scandal.

It is understood the Health Service Executive will determine the clinical position of all 221 women or families affected by the controversy.

The HSE say the decision to undertake the audit which will be carried out by a special team, comes after figures revealed that a low number of those affected by the scandal have decided not to take part in the Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists of slides review.

In an announcement made today the HSE said they hope to have the review completed by Christmas.
