The HSE has confirmed that an extra €16 billion be spent on improving services in 2019.
In an announcement, the Health Service Executive confirmed that the extra €848m will be spent on improving services and opening beds.
The HSE say they expect to open a further 200 beds in 2019 – which are badly needed.
They also say the extra spend will come following an overspend of €700m in 2018.
