Former Celebrity Big Brother contestant Roxanne Pallett has issued a profound apology in her first TV interview since she accused her fellow contestant Ryan Thomas of assaulting her.

Pallett who left the show on Saturday issued the apology whilst speaking on Channel 5’s ‘Jeremy Vine’ show this morning.

The former Emmerdale actress who has received widespread criticism from the public and fellow celebrities since the controversial incident, aplogised to former Coronation Street star Thomas and admitted that she got it “completely wrong.”

Following on from the incident which seen Thomas playfully punch Pallett whilst they were both in the infamous house, the star admitted that she “got it completely wrong,”and is deeply sorry for her actions which prompted 11,000 people to complain to Channel 5.

Pallett told the show that her actions were a mistake, but added that “at the time it hurt, but when I looked back on that footage as soon as I left the house, I got it wrong. I really got it wrong.”

The actress who has been criticised for making light of real domestic abuse cases, also told Vine that she had time to reflect on the incident and following consultation with her family and reviewing the footage she admitted that she wasn’t thinking straight in the immediate aftermath of the incident and it is something she needs to work on.

When questioned by Vine about the fact if the incident had not been caught on camera she could have ruined Thomas’s career, the former Emmerdale star said “at the time I couldn’t disprove my feeling nor could he (Thomas) disprove his intention, but after reviewing footage in a normal environment – because it’s not normal in there, I admit I got it completely wrong.”
