The funeral for the second victim of Rescue 116 crash has taken place today.
The remains of Coast Guard captain Mark Duffy, who was discovered in the wreckage of the helicopter were finally laid to rest in Co. Louth this morning.
Mr Duffy’s funeral took place at Blackrock Church in Dundalk this morning a fortnight after he died in a fatal helicopter crash which also claimed the lives of three others when it crashed into Blackrock Island off the coast of Mayo.
In a moving tribute his wife told mourners how much she loved her husband, saying: “I love you to the moon and back.”.
Mark’s funeral was attended by family and a number of close friends, his remains were later transferred for cremation in Dardistown Crematorium at 2pm.
