Iarnrod Éireann and Union members set to resume talks his morning in order to avert Friday’s proposed rail strike

It has been reported that management at Iarnrod Éireann along with Union members will resume talks later this morning in order to avert the scheduled train driver strikes this Friday.

The latest meeting will come after talks over pay and productivity ended in a stalemate last night with neither side reaching a compromise.

The proposed strike action will reportedly affect up to 40,000 commuters this Friday as drivers are planing to stage a three hour protest between the hours of 6am and 9am.
