Seven shots were fired at a property in Knockbridge village, near Dundalk in Co. Louth, last Wednesday.

Gardai believe that the shooting is the latest incident in an ongoing feud, and that the house was mistakenly targeted.

There were no injuries reported, and so far there have been no arrests made.

Gardai are investigating whether the people involved in the shooting may also be responsible for another shooting incident which took place in Balbriggan last month. In that instance, a 35-year-old man, Benny Whitehouse, was shot dead.

A well-known 32-year-old man with a number of previous convictions is thought to be behind these incidents. This man is attempting to exert control over the crime scene in North Co. Dublin and Co. Louth.
