Gardaí in Co Cork are treating the death of a man whose body was discovered earlier today as suspicious.
The announcement comes after the man’s body was found lying near the stairs in the hallway of his home in Newmarket.
It is believed the discovery was made after neighbours became concerned for the man whereabouts after he wasn’t seen in the area since St Patrick’s Day.
Gardai say the are remains sealed off in order for a forensic examination to take place.
They have also informed the State Pathologist.
