Two gardaí are recovering this evening after their car was rammed at a checkpoint in the early hours this morning in Portarlington, Co Laois.
It is believed the incident occurred at approximately 2.15am this morning on Patrick’s Street in the town. Gardaí say they arrested a man aged in his 40s a short time later but was subsequently released without charge. It is understood a file is being currently prepared for the DPP.
Gardaí also say GSOC have been informed about the incident.
