Investigation underway after two gunshots were fired at house whilst a young toddler slept upstairs




Police in the North have launched an investigation today after two gunshots at a house were a toddler was sleeping inside.

The alarming incident which occurred at 11.30pm on Saturday night in the Rossdowney Drive area of the Waterside in Derry, left the the occupants inside badly shaken but thankfully there were no fatalities.

Speaking about the incident a spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said a number of people were in the house at the time of the gun attack.

It is understood the shots were fired through the front windows as the young child slept upstairs. The police spokesperson appealed for any witnesses to come forward and contact them immediately.
