Gardaí in Co Wicklow are set to conduct a full scale murder inquiry following the discovery of a woman’s body in Ashford this afternoon.
Gardai say that the Coroner for Wicklow and the State Pathologists office have been informed about the discovery. Meanwhile the state pathologist, Professor Marie Cassidy, is expected to conduct an examination of the scene later this evening.
It is understood that a 38-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the investigation and is currently being held at Wicklow Garda Station.
