Ireland grabbed their first point in the UEFA Nations League this evening following a 0-0 with Denmark at Dublin’s Aviva Stadium.

Ireland who were looking for revenge for last year’s 5-1 drubbing in the FIFA World Cup play-off, were left to share the spoils with their Danish counterparts in front of a smaller crowd at the Aviva Stadium.

Martin O’Neill’s men who will be looking for more on Tuesday night against Wales, secured the draw after a lackluster display which had more of a friendly vibe even though the game was marked as a competitive fixture.

The boy’s in green had few chances throughout the game with Cyrus Christie coming closest on the 71st minute with a rasping drive that stumg the hands of the Danish goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Although Danes had the fair share of possession they lacked the cutting edge without their ever present figure Christian Eriksen who missed the game through injury.

Ireland could have snatched all three points at the death, but a clear nudge on Shane Duffy inside the box was classed as a dive rather than a penalty by the referee.
