Ireland set to experience its first spell of winter this weekend with temperatures expected to drop significantly over the coming days




Ireland will experience its first spell of winter this coming weekend as forecasters have said temperatures​ will drop significantly over the coming days ahead.

According to the national forecaster Met Eireann there will be a drastic change in the weather from today onwards as bitterly cold conditions are expected across the country.

Met Eireann also say there will be ground frost in most places as temperatures are set to dip below 2c at night time.

The forecaster has said although the country will be largely dry, western areas can expect to see some rain showers on Friday morning but they will eventually clear away by the afternoon, they also say temperatures will remain between 9-12c on Friday afternoon whilst most places will see lows as 3c at night time.

Saturday will be mainly dry in all areas although temperatures are expected to be colder with most places struggling to get out of the single digits, whilst ground frost will set in overnight.

Meanwhile Sunday will see some light showers in Northern areas throughout the afternoon although they are expected to clear by the evening time, they also say temperatures will range between 7-10c with further ground frost expected overnight.
