The former UKIP leader and British politician Nigel Farage has claimed that many Irish people are in favour of the idea that would see Ireland leave the European Union.
Mr Farage who is one of the key figures behind the UK’s exit from the single market, said there is more appetite for an Irexit than ever before.
Speaking to RTE News on Friday, Farage said the idea of Ireland leaving the EU has gained support in recent months particularly in areas outside of Dublin.
The former politician who is scheduled to give a speech about Irexit in Dublin over the weekend, also claimed that many Irish people believe that the UK could have made the right move by leaving the single market.
He also said he fully believes that a party similar to UKIP would be successful in Irish politics.
