Irish flag to fly at half mast at Leinster House in order to pay tribute to Martin McGuiness

It has been confirmed that the Irish Flag will fly at half mast at Leinster House today, in honour of former Northern Ireland First Minister Martin McGuinness who passed away earlier this week.

Mr McGuiness died aged 66, at Derry’s Altnagelvin Hospital in the early hours of Tuesday morning after he fell ill.

Mr McGuiness was diagnosed with a rare heart disease last December.

Meanwhile tributes have come in from both North and South of the border with the Taoiseach Enda Kenny saying Mr McGuinness fought to the end.
