The Irish Navy have confirmed that the Navy Vessel LÉ Samuel Beckett, will be sent to the Mediterranean with a crew of 59 people to continue humanitarian commitment to the region.
The vessels departure marks the third deployment of an Irish naval vessel to the Mediterranean since May. It understood the Samuel Beckett will replace the LÉ Niamh vessel, which is currently in the region.
