Enda Kenny has told Fine Gael TDs that child benefit will get cut if they scrap water charges.
Incredibly, a reversal of increases in welfare spending, income tax cuts and child benefit will all be reversed if they scrap the water charges.
In an email sent to Fine Gael TDs and Senators, the party leader said that the shortfall for lack of water charges will have to be sought for the benefits to this years budget.
The threatening email also included an option of a massive 4% increase in Income tax. These disgraceful measures surely will not be tolerated by the electorate. Time to go back to the Fine Gael drawing board…
