A new advertising campaign dubbed ‘From cloud to glass’, explaining how water makes its way from the clouds to our taps, will soon be shown on Irish media.

The €650,000 extravaganza will run for eight weeks, and it will explain in detail the seven steps that apparently take for that process to be completed.

The ad is supposed to prove to customers that water just simply “does not fall from the sky”, and it’s also intended to highlight the investment needed to upgrade and maintain the ancient infrastructure.

The campaign has been designed by Irish Water’s creative agency Rothco, and it will be shown across television, radio, press, out-of-home, cinema and digital media for eight weeks.

Its timing will coincide with the arrival of the first bills in April.

Irish Water has been mired in controversy from the very beginning, and popular opposition to it shows no sign of abating.

A mass protest march is scheduled in Dublin this Saturday, March 21.
