It has been revealed in the past hour that an Irishman has been seriously injured following a cycling accident in Tenerife.
The man aged in his 50s is believed to have suffered a number of head and chest injuries after he crashed into van at approximately 2pm local time.
Local media reports say the cyclist crashed into the vehicle whilst traveling downhill on the wrong side of the road.
The man was quickly rushed to the Hospital Universitario Nuestra Señora de Candelaria, in Santa Cruz.
