The well-produced video, titled ‘Lend me your ears Episode 6, features the captured photojournalist John Cantlie wearing an orange jumpsuit and addressing the camera from behind a desk.
Cantlie, seemingly speaking under duress, says that he has accepted the fact that he is likely to be executed soon, and also speaks of a botched raid on July 4 last, where US special forces failed to locate him.
Cantlie appears to criticize this action, saying that it must have cost millions of dollars, and all the militants had to do was driving him elsewhere.
The British hostage was seized in Syria last year. This latest footage is the first to emerge after the killing of American aid worker Peter Kassig.
