IT’S Not Worth It: Brave Young Woman Left Blind from Texting and Driving Speaks Out in order to raise awareness

A brave young American woman has been applauded by many after she took the courage and spoke about how a devastating texting-and-driving accident changed her life forever.

The brave 20-year-old Liz Marks from Maryland recently admitted that she blatantly “ignored all warnings about texting whilst driving, because everyone else was doing it.” Before she added “If I didn’t have my cell phone, I felt lonely.”

However Liz’s life all changed one day in April 2012, when she looked down to read a text message whilst she was behind the wheel, which caused her to have a horrific accident that resulted in her being left blind in one eye, and impaired her sense of smell and hearing.

An emotional Liz told local media that can’t cry anymore because of damage caused to her tear ducts, and her body is unable to go to sleep naturally, leaving her dependent on medication.
“The hardest part was feeling that i was alone.” “My friends were there for me at first, but after a while, they weren’t. They got tired of me. They got tired of all my problems.”

Ms Marks shared her tragic story in a Department of Transportation awareness campaign. She is also hoping to spread the message with a new Facebook page called “Don’t Text N Drive 4 Liz Marks.” “If you get a text, don’t look at it,” she said. “It’s not worth it.” she added.
