James Bulger killer Jon Venables sent back to prison after officers find evidence of child pornography on his computer for a second time

Jon Venables, one of James Bulger’s killers, has reportedly been sent back to prison after officers found evidence of child pornography on his computer for a second time.

Venables, along with classmate and accomplice in the Bulger killing Robert Thompson, were released from prison on a life licence in 2001.

Both have been living under new identities since then. Thompson has stayed out of trouble, but Venables re-offended in 2008 and 2010, with charges of possession of cocaine and child pornography respectively. He was locked up again in 2010, and released two years later.

Venables’ continuous breaches of his licence may now mean that he might be locked up for life.
