John Young, one of NASA’s most veteran and experienced astronauts, has passed away aged 87.
Young was the only American astronaut to fly into space as part of Gemini, Apollo, and shuttle missions. He was also the first astronaut to go into space six times, and the ninth out of twelve people to ever set foot on the Moon.
It is understood that he died on Friday, after suffering complications due to pneumonia.
