Finally, it appears justice has actually been served.

78-yr-old Richard Osborn-Brooks has received both praise and abuse after being arrested on suspicion of murdering a burglar at his London home.

It’s understood that the pensioner has been released fully from charges and will face no further police action.

Mr Osborn-Brooks home was broken into at 12:45am on Wednesday morning when the 78-yr-old discovered two intruders inside his house on South Park Crescent, Hither Green.

Both men are said to be have been in their 30s – some 40 years junior to the 78-yr-old homeowner

One of the men, a 38-yr-old burglar was stabbed by a screwdriver he was holding himself during a fist fight with the 78-yr-old in the home owner’s kitchen.

The burglar died in hospital around 4am on the same day as the burglary. He was reportedly dragged up the road by the other burglar who is said to have dumped him on the street and ran off – still on the loose.

Mr Osborn-Brooks is said to have sore arms after the horrific encounter. He was initially arrested on suspicion of GBH, before later being re-arrested on suspicion of murder.

The pensioner’s neighbours have rallied around him after the sick ordeal he endured. They all say he is a gentleman who keeps to himself and did nothing wrong. They all said that he defended his own home and his own life and deserves no punishment whatsoever.
