Karen Buckley’s killer Alexander Pacteau’s sentencing will be shown live on Television the Scottish Crown Office have confirmed

It has been officially confirmed that the sentencing of Karen Buckley’s killer Alexander Pacteau will be broadcast live on Television.

The news was confirmed by Scotland’s Crown Office yesterday evening, it is understood the Crown Office granted permission for Sky News to record sentencing hearing which is due to be held on September 8th. The news comes after company director Pacteau , 21, pleaded to sadistically murdering Irish student Buckley last April. Pacteau admitted that he murdered Ms Buckley after he hit her repeatedly with a spanner and then strangled her in his car. A spokesperson for Scottish Crown Office told the media: “The sentencing statement will be filmed for subsequent news broadcast and published in full following the conclusion of proceedings.”

Mr Pacteau faces a life sentence after he pleaded guilty to the murder of the Cork nurse at Kelvin Way in Glasgow just minutes after Karen had left a nightclub with him.
