The former Environment Minister and Labour Party leader contender Alan Kelly has launched a scathing attack on his fellow Government TD Finian McGrath, after he revealed that he has not paid his water charges.

Mr Kelly who is many people’s favourite to take over from Joan Burton claims that Mr McGrath should seriously consider his position in Government after he revealed his unacceptable actions.

Mr Kelly also said he found that Mr McGrath’s actions incredible given the fact that he is a politician and is not willing to obey the law.

Mr Kelly told reporters: “The idea that Fine Gael can sit down one week in a government with the Labour Party and people who pay their bills, and now can sit down with people who do not pay their bills is not credible.”

“If he does not change his position or if there are any others like him and they don’t change their position then they should consider their position.”

The Labour Party deputy leader also said Mr McGrath cannot pick and choose what bills he wants to pay even though has a top position at the Cabinet table.

“He needs to reflect on his position or else he needs to vacate the position.” he added.
