Taoiseach: “The current overcrowding crisis at the nations hospitals is the biggest regret of my time in office”

The Taoiseach and Fine Gael leader Enda Kenny has claimed that the recent overcrowding crisis at the nations hospitals has effected him deeply.

Mr Kenny has citied the fact that elderly patients being forced to wait on trolleys for lengthy periods is his biggest concern and regret. The Taoiseach also states that the situation involving many patients being constantly forced to wait on hospital trolleys is his biggest regret of his time in office.

However when he was asked whether or not he would eliminate trolley waiting lists for ever, Mr Kenny said he would do all he can but could not make any promises. The Taoiseach also said he didn’t like hearing about the distressing stories in regard to current health issues that arise occasionally, saying: “I find that difficult I have to say, and that’s why Minister Varadkar is tackling this in a really vigorous way now.”
