Kind Hearted Joe: Waiter becomes viral hit after woman uploads picture on Facebook showing him helping a disabled woman eat

A waiter working at an IHOP restaurant in Illinois in the US has become a viral hit in the past week after a woman dinning in the restaurant uploaded an image of him on social media showing him helping a disabled person eat.

The post which has already amassed 10,000 shares worldwide was uploaded by a local woman named Keshia who couldn’t help but watch in admiration as the kind hearted waiter helped the disabled customer in order to allow her devoted partner to finish his meal.

In the touching Facebook post Keshia explained that she couldn’t believe what unfolded before her eyes as the waiter decided to sit down and offer his assistance to the couple whilst they dined together.

Sharing the the beautiful photos Keshia wrote to: ‘My faith in humanity has been restored a little today’’.

However the story doesn’t end their as the woman who was clearly moved explained in her post that she decided to approach the couple in order to find out what was going on. After approaching the trio Keshia said she had the ‘sweetest conversation’ with the couple named Dale and Ma.

Keshia revealed that a devoted Dale told her that the waiter’s name was Joe, and that he was so happy Joe was receiving ‘all the recognition he deserves’.

A grateful Dale explained that Joe aged 43, has been actively helping them every Saturday for long as they can remember as Ma surfers with Huntington’s disease, a genetic disorder that causes the progressive breakdown of nerve cells in the brain.

Since Joe has become a vital hit, the kind waiter sat down with a reporter from BuzzFeed to explain why he decided to help the couple every Saturday.

A gracious Joe told the publication that Ma has trouble with holding utensils, and he used to watch as Dale would feed her, all the while letting his own breakfast go cold. One day, he decided it was Dale’s turn to enjoy a hot breakfast.

Joe explained: ‘One day I just said to him you eat your food — I got this.’

Joe also said that Ma wasn’t always this way, explaining that  she used to be able to walk and feed herself – but that her health has since deteriorated over the past seven years.

The kind hearted Joe also revealed that he has since built up an incredibly close relationship with Dale and Ma, and has been a bit overcome by all of the online attention he has received.
