Large crowds descend on the streets across Ireland and Northern Ireland in protest of Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding rape trial verdict

Dublin’s O’Connell Street was forced to halt traffic today as a large group of protestors descended on the capital to voice their opinions in regards to the recent verdict during the Paddy Jackson and Stuart Olding rape trial.

Amongst the group, people were seen holding banners with the phrase #Ibelieveher, whilst they also issued a number chants including ‘shoulder to shoulder’ and ‘we stand with her’.

Meanwhile further protests in Belfast Cork, Galway and Limerick also seen a large attendance with many turning out to voice their opinion in regards to the verdict.

The protests which were organised within less than 24 hours came after the accused Paddy Jackson, Stuart Olding, Blaine Mcllroy and Rory Harrison were acquitted of all charges at Belfast Crown Court on Wednesday.
