Late Late Show host Ryan Tubridy hits back at those who criticised his high salary claiming those who criticise him are ‘jealous’

Late Late Show host and RTE radio star Ryan Tubridy has hit back at those who have publicly criticised his massive salary.

Tubridy has spoken of his disgust at those who publicly questioned his salary which currently stands at €495,000 a year. Tubridy’s outburst has come after TV3 stars including Mark Cagney have said you can’t empathise with the audience, previously insisting: “How do you know what it’s like to struggle on half a million a year?” Tubridy say’s he has no reason to be ashamed for his high salary and claims those who criticise him could be jealous of what he gets paid. Tubridy said: “We can ask the same person if they were offered my job would they take it or turn it down because the money was no issue.”

Tubridy also went on the record to say he doesn’t particularly take their attacks to heart, as he only truly cares what his pals and family think. He said: “It comes down to the bare essentials of family and friends. They don’t give a monkeys about what happens in Montrosia,” “You’re their dad, their pal, their brother or whatever and everything else is secondary.” The news comes after Tubridy admitted he would happily quit RTE and move to the BBC to finally be free from his critics.
