Latest figures from the CSO show the average annual salary has risen in 2016




According to newly published figures by the Central Statistics Office the annual average wage has risen in the past year.

In its latest report the CSO say the average full time employee earns €45,611 per annum.

Meanwhile the average salary also increased slightly to €36,519, from €36,519 in the year 2015.

There was also an increase in the average wage for part-time employees who now earn €16,597 per annum.

It is understood the increase in salaries have come as employers have benefited from the recent economic recovery.
