Latest figures reveal over 300 people are currently waiting on hospital trolleys today




Nursing staff at one of the country’s biggest hospital’s University Hospital Limerick, have said their hospital is the most overcrowded in the country.

The claim comes after the INMO released figures thar showed the hospital currently has 35 people waiting for a bed.

The INMO also revealed there are currently 327 people waiting on trolleys in Emergency Departments and overflow areas in a number of hospital wards today.

The figures also show that 244 patients are currently waiting on trolleys, whilst 83 are in the wards.

The organisation said Cork University Hospital is the second most overcrowded hospital today with 33 people recorded, followed by St Luke’s Hospital in Kilkenny which currently has 27 people waiting.
