An Indian law student has been hailed as brave ad courageous after she cut the penis of her alleged attacker recently.
The 23 year old who is the victim of years of sexual abuse finally took matters into her own hands on Friday when she managed to fight off her attacker by severing his penis in the latest attack.
The alleged incident took place at woman’s family home in Thiruvananthapuram. According to local media reports the terrified woman fought back when her attacker who has since been identified as local preacher Gangesanantha Teerthapadar was attempting to abuse her.
It is believed in attempt to flee her attacker the distraught woman cut Teerthapadar’s penis before fleeing the scene.
The emotionally distraught woman then called the police who then took the Teerthapadar to the medical college hospital.
However rather than admit to his heinous string of abuse Teerthapadar told the police he had inflicted the injury upon himself “as the organ was of no use for him”.
Meanwhile a medical college official said: “Teerthapadar was admitted with 90% of the penis severed. The penis could not be sutured.”
“Doctors of urology and plastic surgery departments subjected him to emergency surgery to control bleeding and enable him to pass urine. His condition is stable now.”
Teerthapadar was later arrested and kept under police custody at the hospital after the woman gave detailed accounts of her abuse over the past number of years.
