The LE Samuel Beckett has returned to its home port after rescuing 1,088 people from the Mediterranean Sea.
Families and friends of the 58 sailors on board the ship gathered at Haulbowline in Co. Cork earlier today to greet their loved ones.
The boat took active part in five major search and rescue operations in the Mediterranean, which resulted in the rescue of 1,088 people.
