The singer, best known for musical hits You Sexy Thing and It Started With A Kiss, died of liver cancer today, after a long battle with the illness.
The band Hot Chocolate had numerous chart hits in the 1970s. As a highlight of their career, they played at a pre-wedding party for Prince Charles and Lady Diana in Buckingham Palace back in 1981.
Brown is survived by his wife and two daughters.
