Legend set to return – RTE great Gay Byrne reportedly set to host another series of The Meaning Of Life despite ongoing cancer battle

Legendary broadcaster and former Late Late Show Gay Byrne has reportedly signed up to host another series for his popular RTE One show The Meaning Of Life.

Byrne aged 82, who revealed earlier this year that he is currently ongoing treatment for prostate cancer and had two hip replacement operations has reportedly agreed to host another series of the show that explores all things religious and discuss a number of key topics with well-known celebrities.

According to The Irish Mirror, Byrne, who took time out due to his illness earlier this year, told his close friend and Late Late Show successor Pat Kenny that he has agreed in principle to host the show which has received widespread critical acclaim from critics here.

Although there has been no official announcement from RTE it is widely expected the show will air later this year with filming set to begin in the coming weeks ahead.
